5 the best upcoming cars under Rs.10L which are absolutely worth every penny

The Sub-10L market segment in India is a highly competitive space where manufacturers have to provide a solid deal in order to ensure volume sales. This makes it rather difficult as manufacturers have to compete with a lot of pre-existing products that are already selling well. On top of that, it has to be appealing to the customer with enough kit and good driving dynamics so that they might remain loyal to the brand. So there are a lot of challenges in this segment, no doubt but it all comes down to which offers you a solid deal. Well here is a list of cars, both present and upcoming that offers the best bang for buck.

  • MarutiVitara Brezza: The Vitarabrezza has always been a decent product from MS as it combines good driving dynamics, decent reliability and decent in-car kit. The good news here that MS will be updating the current Vitara with a facelift very soon. The details on the upcoming maruti vitara brezza facelift are sparse but we do know that it’ll get a brand new 1.5L engine with Suzuki’s SHVS hybrid drive, which will produce 100hp with 150nm of torque. We don’t know if it’ll get any new kit or a 4WD version but if you want a compact, Urban SUV, you cannot go wrong with this.
  • Honda Brio 2019: The new brio was showcased recently in Indonesia and it might be inbound for India as well. The Brio’s is a driver’s car as it is designed as a hot hatchback and there are hardly any cars that are as fun to drive as this short pocket rocket. The new brio borrows many design elements from the Honda Civic hot hatch and will carry forward the 1.2L iVTEC engine,, albeit now it’ll get two transmission options – 5 speed manual and a 7 step CVT.
  • Tata Tiago JTP: The Tiago JTP is an upcoming Hot Hatch from TATA. This is a car that many enthusiasts have been keeping their eyes on as the JTP is rumoured to get the Nexon’s 110bhp engine, new suspension and a body kit. It’ll definitely be a fast car and if rumours are to believed then it’ll be priced under Rs.10L, which is great if you are looking for a high performance hatchback that doesn’t break the bank.
  • Kia Stonic: Although the pricing isn’t confirmed, we believe the base version of the Stonicwill start under Rs.10L. It will be a competitor to the Hyundai i20 active, as both share similar exterior traits and styling. This is a fairly well received and cool looking hatchback in the European markets and has three engines on offer, namely a 1.4l Petrol, 1L turbo petrol and a 1.2L Diesel. The Stonic is a decent looking car overall with good equipment levels. So if KIA manages to price this right, it might be a good option.
  • Kia Picanto: The Picanto is based on the Hyundai Grand i10, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as the latter is a well-received small hatchback.  However, if you find the grand i10 a bit too bland, then the Picanto’s sporty looks might be a definite plus. Equipment levels will mostly be the same as well, so it’s all going to come down to taste.
