The Most Watched Games On Twitch
League of Legends
The world’s most popular MOBA title, Riot Games’ League of Legends has dominated the competitive world of Esports pretty much since its launch back in 2009. The game has a highly stacked competitive circuit, has a plethora of LoL odds and wagering markets for its passionate core to take their love for the game to the next level and an abundance of high profile events and tournaments that never fail to draw in viewers from around the world.
Over the course of October, the game has peaked at 1.2 million viewers, a gain of +30% on September, benefitting from the start of the annual Worlds tournament.
One of the breakout games of 2020, Among Us has proven to be the ultimate party game to both play through and watch. Plenty of big streamers and personalities have joined the craze and helped catapult it up to second on the leaderboard of most watched games on Twitch.
Over the course of October, the game has so far managed to level out with 164,730 unique viewers a day and a peak audience of 745,000 on the 27th of September. The intrigue behind the game and its insanely addictive format should be enough to keep it relevant for at least a few more months still.
At one time the world’s biggest video game, Fortnite is still in the process of establishing what sort of game it wants to be. On the one hand, it’s the most casual battle royale title ever created, crossing into mainstream society with their references and various skins available in game.
The game benefited hugely from the news that its owner, Epic Games, had taken over Psyconix and was now in charge of Rocket League. The two games joined together for a crossover event named Llama-Rama earlier this month which is maybe the reason behind its +22.3% rise in viewership this month.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Warzone has continued to dominate the FPS world and is currently nestled in the top five leading games on Twitch. The game peaked over the course of September 2020 with nearly a million active viewers at one time, however the game has been on something of a downward spiral since and our money would be on the game dropping out of the top five within the next couple of months.
The latest instalment in EA’s football simulation series, despite what the community were saying prior to its release, Fifa 21 has already become the fifth biggest video game on Twitch. With the launch of the game only coming at the end of September, its +1.3k% and gain of 80,000 average viewers shouldn’t be as surprising as it might first seem.
The game’s surge will obviously level out as the novelty of a new Fifa levels out, however for the time being expect to see EA pop up on your dashboard for the next few weeks at least.
